跨国图书馆史研究作为一个新兴的研究领域,正逐步引起全球图书馆学者的兴趣和关注。跨国图书馆史研究不仅挑战了传统图书馆史书写中单一民族国家的叙事局限,而且丰富了传统图书馆史研究的主题。跨国图书馆史研究可尝试从全球知识和文化运动对图书馆历史进程的影响、国际组织在图书馆发展中的历史作用、图书和其他文献资料的跨国流通、图书馆员和学者在跨国网络中的地位以及分析殖民主义对图书馆发展进程的影响等五大主题上先行探索。作为一个新兴跨学科研究领域,跨国图书馆史研究具有重要的学术意义和广阔的发展前景。
