〔摘 要〕 对教育家的研究有助于增进对图书馆学芝加哥学派形成的认知。1927— 1929 年,乔治·沃克斯任芝加哥大学图书馆学研究生院首任院长。在此期间,乔治·沃克斯 借用社会科学改造图书馆学,倡导以学术研究提升图书馆学教育水平,在一定程度上促进 了图书馆学与整个社会和社会科学的融合,为芝加哥学派的形成奠定了基础。
